On Saturday 9th November, Penrith City Council in collaboration with member Councils of The Parks, will be holding a regional garage sale at Kingsway Playing Fields at Werrington. This event will provide anyone interested in the community with the opportunity to come and sell their pre-loved and unwanted quality goods or to come and nab some great bargains! This is part of Council’s efforts to help our communities become more sustainable and make an impact on reducing the amount of stuff going to landfill, by facilitating opportunities for reuse and the purchase and selling of second-hand goods. We are planning a fun family event with demonstrations/workshops on sustainable practises like creating your own worm farm or building insect hotels and with fun for the kids like making art from waste products or playing in our ‘musical garden’! So why don’t you come along and turn clutter into cash while building community connections? You can either sell what you don’t need or find what you do – at a very reasonable price! We can’t wait to see you there!
